Eclipse not recognizing war

kurtg123

I have an existing web project:

<project .....>
.....
  <packaging>war</packaging>
.....
  <build>
    <plugins>
      <plugin>
        <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId>
        <artifactId>tomcat-maven-plugin</artifactId>
        <version>1.0-beta-1</version>
        <configuration>
          <path>/myapp</path>
        </configuration>
      </plugin>
      <plugin>
        <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
        <artifactId>maven-war-plugin</artifactId>
        <configuration>
                <webResources>
                        <resource>
                                <directory>WebContent</directory>
                                <excludes>
                                        <exclude>src/**</exclude>
                                </excludes>
                        </resource>

etc.

which builds fine, but when I try to add my Tomcat 6 server in "Servers", it can't identify it as a resource to deploy.

I'm using Eclipse Helios with the m2eclipse 0.10 plugin.   I'm new to using webapps w/ m2eclipse, but it seems like it should work.   (I can deploy it via a command-line and it works fine.)

Any ideas?

I'd be willing to help chase down the issue, but I'm not sure where to start.  Looking back in the threads, this seems to be an intermittent problem that plagues some newbies.

I suppose I'll need to dig in the server code to figure out what it considers to be a valid resource.
