Thanks for the trick. We are already using it.

If we decided to use {{surefire.groups}} and if someone has to use it in {{failsafe}} plugin, then he has to use {{surefire.groups}} which looks bit odd to me.

Either we should change it use {{surefire.groups}} for surefire plugin and {{failsafe.groups}} for failsafe or we should make one unique name which we can use it both of them that's why I want to have it as {{maven.test.groups}}.

Also one more thing, should we make it backward compatible? So users who are already using {{groups}} doesn't have to deal with any changes if we support both i.e. for surefire - {{groups}} and {{surefire.groups}}, for failsafe - {{groups}} and {{failsafe.groups}}.
